We were excited when we read that Zoen & Joshua were engaged back in December 2019. Read on as we share an exclusive interview with Zoen about their wedding inspirations and preparations.
The Relationship of Zoen Tay & Joshua Tan
Believe us when we say Zoen and Joshua is one of the sweetest couples. When asked about her favourite moments with Joshua, Zoen thought for a long time and finally shared that she loved every day small moments with Joshua. Of course, special mention goes to the cute proposal which she was totally unaware of!
Every moment is my favourite moment.’
We also asked her on some tips for her long-distance relationship with Joshua and she gladly shared her advice with us. In essence, communication is key for LDR and yes it takes a great deal of effort to text and calls one another and to update each other about small moments in their life when apart. Joshua also makes an effort to visit Zoen often even though he hates flying. It is amazing to know that their longest time apart was six weeks!
Dream Wedding Venue
The couple is looking at an intimate church solemnisation and a hotel banquet afterwards. As most of their family and close ones are in Singapore, Zoen expressed her love for CHIJMES hall as the perfect wedding venue for her big day. Her ideal wedding is one that is clean and romantic. The high ceiling and filtered lights falling gently through the finest stained glass window in Chijmes hall make it the most magical and dreamy place for a wedding.

Bridal Gowns
Zoen wore 3 white gowns and 3 kimono cheongsams from Ethereal by Watabe Wedding for the styled shoot and she also shared with us the type of gowns that she is looking for on her big day. Zoen is a big fan of A-line gowns as she finds them more flattering and forgiving. As for design-wise, she loves a gown with a clean-cut look. Think satin, flowy with minimum lace and details. As for Joshua, his favourite silhouette is the mermaid cut. For her big day, she is thinking of having more than one gown for the solemnisation and the reception. We can’t wait to see Zoen’s bridal looks!
I like authenticity and ideally, we could take some photos to commemorate special events & dates instead. I would say a shoot in Australia at the place where we had our first date will be perfect.’
We can’t wait to see how the couple’s wedding will turn out to be and we wish them all the best in their wedding preparations. Loved the gowns Zoen donned for this shoot? Then you have to check out Ethereal by Watabe Wedding.
