Many think once their big day is over, they’d never get to celebrate their love as lavishly as their wedding day. Or probably dismiss a reason to celebrate an anniversary. Well, it’s time to cast these thoughts aside! Wedding anniversaries mark years and years of togetherness, which also means years of overcoming the bad days together. That’s something worth a celebration, right?
If you’re looking for more reasons to celebrate your wedding anniversary, let Aileen & Damien from Singapore show you how it can be done with so much love (and fun)!
For their 8th Wedding Anniversary, the lovely couple chose Alcove at Caldwell House as their location! They’ve even rented their venue over 2 days in order for the decorations to be prepared a day prior to the event.
When asked why they would celebrate their wedding anniversary, Aileen said, “It’s a milestone” and that reminds them that marriage remains a priority in their life. She did struggle with the idea of not celebrating her wedding anniversary as it could be redundant but decided that looking back on their 8 years of marriage is not just about the past, but also the present and the future. It can remind them about their belief and strength in their marriage, encouraging them to keep going.
The Wedding Anniversary Planning
Just like any event, a few hours worth of celebration requires much more time and effort to put it together. The couple has chosen Heaven’s Gift as their wedding anniversary planner. When they met Hannah from Heaven’s Gift, they were asked for a story of their love. They didn’t think they had a story. Little did they know, their love story was always there, just not explicitly discovered.
Items the couple collected over the years were displayed and videography footages from their wedding in 2010 were shown. They even had 4 cakes! Aileen took this opportunity to wear her gown from 8 years ago, and even had fun trying on others for this anniversary.
With the help of Heaven’s Gift, everything flowed into place smoothly, in the style that they like, sweet and concise.
Not only did Kevin from Lightedpixels Photography help to relive moments from their pre-wedding photoshoot, but there were also full family photos that Aileen could now take (as they missed it when they were busy during their wedding 8 years ago).
Hint: another reason to hold your wedding anniversary celebration! Shots you knew were missing at your wedding dinner can now be taken.
It was definitely a reminiscent event for both Aileen & Damien, bringing their loved family and friends back together again.
Happy Wedding Anniversary to Aileen & Damien (who also celebrates their anniversary on the 27th of February)!
