French couple celebrates their union in an intimate barn wedding in France. Captured beautifully by Clarisse et Johan, read on to find out more about the couple and their wedding.
We wanted something simple, to be able to fully enjoy our days with our guests.
About the Couple
The couple met at fencing back in 2009. The bride recalls that it was sort of a love at sight for them. Both of them had just ended a long relationship before and in the bride’s own words, ‘a little skinned alive’. They quickly hit it off and moved from the fencing club to movie theatres. However, their relationship wasn’t all smooth sailing, there were ups and downs, geographical celibacy. The bride moved around from Paris to Morocco for work and spent quite some time travelling, but the groom patiently waited for her for 5 years. If this isn’t true love, we don’t know what is anymore. The duo only finally settled down after 7 years together.
We had just lost his brother a few weeks before and we clung to this day like a light at the end of the tunnel. He looked forward to this day with a sense of urgency to live and love.
The Intimate Barn Wedding at Clos De Pierrepont
As for their wedding, they did not want a town hall ceremony. Hence, they opted for 2 secular ceremonies, one with a friend and one with family. Clos de Pierrepont had a lovely barn and was the perfect location surrounded by greenery and nature. The couple had their ceremony and vow reading under a tree with their closest family and friends, followed by a reception. Serene, relaxed and fun were words associated with their wedding and it was truly the best time of their life.
Clarisse Et Johan Photography
Clarisse and Johan are a French husband and wife duo, passionate about capturing lovers’ big day and their interactions with loved ones. This wedding was actually the first wedding that they photographed. Their style is heart-warming and inspired by nature, they see the event through their lenses as if they are guests invited so that looking back, couples can truly feel and see how their big day was like under the eyes of their guests.
The Wedding Gown
The bride wore an elegant and simple gown from Spanish label Pronovias. It is a short-sleeved all-white gown without any lace. Featuring a cut-out back with lined buttons and paired with a lace veil, the bridal look was completed with flowers made by the bride and her mother personally. That’s what we call adding some personal touches to your big day!
Advice to Future Brides
The best part about your big day is that it belongs entirely to you and your loved ones, hence you should not stress too much over it. Always remember that if your guests are happy and well-fed, nothing will be wrong and you should enjoy yourself as much as possible.
