Beautifully captured by Lato Photography, Shanghainese couple Jieyu & Jordan had an Italian wedding filled with Mediterranean sunshine at Masseria Potenti.
About the couple
We would say that Jieyu & Jordan were meant to be as they were in each other’s lives for more than 20 years. They did not know each other, but they actually went to the same school and lived in the same neighbourhood. During an elementary school gathering in New York, the two finally got to know each other and it was love at first sight for them. Half a year later, they tied the knot in New York city hall.
About Lato Photography
Laura and Tommy, who are behind Lato Photography, are two Italian photographers passionate about capturing weddings worldwide. They are known for combining portrait photography with a passion for documentary, telling compelling love stories through their lenses. After the ceremony, the couple took some portraits around the venue before the reception.
The Intimate Wedding
The couple decided on Italy as their wedding destination as the groom spent his freshmen year in Florence. The bride came across Masseria Potenti when she was scrolling through her Instagram one day and decided immediately that it will be their wedding venue. It was a cosy and intimate wedding with their closest friends and family.
I’ve always wanted a dreamy Italian wedding filled with Mediterranean sunshine.”
The MP team took care of the details perfectly, filling the celebration with local flowers, fruits and fresh grown produces. The simple and natural set up was a true reflection of the Italian vibe and the team’s love for the land. The wedding and reception are a minimalistic style, combing white with pops of green. White florals, green leaves and cactus are found throughout the wedding set-up.
The Bridal Look
Since the couple wanted an intimate wedding that is simple yet classic, the bride opted for an elegant off-shoulder gown from Carolina Herrera. Paired with pearls from Mikimoto, it was a bridal look that was stunning yet minimalistic. The gown also complimented well with Masseria Potenti’s white and green styling. As for the groom, looking sharp and sleek, Jordan customised a full set from a French tailor shop back in Shanghai.
Tips for Destination Wedding Planning
When asked about tips for planning a destination wedding, Jieyu noted that the most important factors are communication and trust. Hence, it is important for you to work with vendors that are inspiring and helpful. They should know what your ideal setup is and you can also trust them to come up with the most magical wedding you have ever imagined.
