Always dreaming of a countryside barn wedding but not sure how a perfect venue will look like? We share with you Katy & Benjamin’s sweet wedding at The Oak Tree of Peover, an oak framed building that is truly a hidden gem in the English countryside of Cheshire.
The Sweet Couple
Katy is English and Benjamin is Swiss, the couple met each other back in University during a night out and began their love story and life together. Benjamin proposed to Katy during their anniversary trip to titanic spa in Huddersfield. They were engaged for 22 months before they decided to tie the knot in a beautiful Oak framed building, The Oak Tree of Peover, in August 2018. Katy describes their wedding to be simply amazing. It was truly an intimate and private affair, with cute cars and an innovative photo booth in a pink van.
“I love that we are the best of friends and that we share the same love to have fun, spending our days laughing like we just met.”
The perfect Wedding Venue
Katy grew up in Cheshire so naturally, when thinking about where they were going to have their wedding, Cheshire came top on the list. The Oak Tree of Peover boasted a Ladybird room which is perfect for intimate nuptials. The beautiful stone flagged floor, the high ceiling and the big windows in the room make it an impeccable venue of choice, one that is solemn yet enchanting. It was easily accessible from the airport, easing the journey for guests that had to travel in from other places. The couple imagined a wedding that is romantic and laid-back, with soft colours and decorations, just how a dreamy barn wedding would be like.
“The many beautiful windows flood the building with natural light while the high ceiling draws your eye up to the exposed beams.”
The Wedding Details
Katy’s wedding dress is a soft-looking laced off-shoulder gown from Rosa Clara found at Knutsford Wedding Gallery. It was simple and elegant, one that suited Katy’s body shape perfectly, and a dress that she would be comfortable in from reception to the last dance. Not only that, it suited their wedding theme with the soft fabric providing a relaxed look.
The reception menu was summery and refreshing. With starters like Prosciutto, Salami, pine nuts and tomatoes, accompanied by various cheese that encouraged the guests to mix and match, it was a scrumptious spread. A mixture of long and round tables, decorated with floating candles and glass votives of flowers to accentuate their romantic wedding feel. The simple 3-tiered white wedding cake with roses, peonies and an added sparkle top tier, ties in with the wedding flowers and wedding style.
“This is definitely our favourite day ever and it just all goes so fast!”
On the morning of the wedding, Katy gave Ben a box of personalized items, with the things inside serving as a reminder for themselves about their wedding day in the future. How sweet and thoughtful is that! When planning for your big day, why not think about personalizing a gift for your significant other, reminding one another about the best day of your life for many years to come!
