Meet Kiley and Maayan, who married in the Caesarea Winery in Israel. This is a winery wedding you’ll love!
This ancient city was built by Herod the Great in 25-13 BCE and later ruled by the Romans in 63 BCE when the name was declared Caesarea in honour of Caesar Augustus. Located just north of the coastal city of Tel Aviv, Israel, this mystical harbour filled with endless amounts of history felt like the perfect spot.
The couple met in Tel Aviv, exactly four years prior on the day of their wedding. When he proposed during the sunset in early October on the beach, she knew the answer was a “Yes” from the moment they met. He proposed with two rings, one which he had custom made and one which her late father had made in the 80s as her aunt’s engagement ring.
“One’s from me and one is from your dad. I couldn’t ask for his permission so I hope this makes up for it.” Maayan said, about the rings.
With guests coming from around the world to celebrate their big day, they knew that they wanted to show a side of Israel that many hadn’t seen before. The theme stayed in the realm of ancient Greek with olive branches and vines draped over the chuppah surrounded by old marble statues and greenery flowing off the ends of the long wood tables.
She found her Martina Liana dress in Canada after a long process of ruling out almost everything she had put on.
“I had so much fun trying on wedding dresses. I really loved everything. It was so hard to make a final choice, though! But this was the one that made my mom start to cry, so I knew it was the winner.”
He found his suit in Italy in a little shop in Rome during a trip a few weeks prior to the wedding. The bridesmaids came from Los Angeles, Australia, and Canada; all dressed in white flowy Beach Riot dresses covered with pink floral print to add a pop of colour to the ceremony. The groomsmen came from Canada and from Israel wearing different shades of navy blue fitted suits with bowties to finish the look.
The wedding was outside but the breeze from the nearby Mediterranean Sea helped to make the August heat bearable.
The couple wanted to use a photographer and videographer that had a unique style that would make their digital memories unique from every other wedding. The husband and wife team at Sigala Photography were the perfect fit.
“As soon as we saw their style of using digital as well as film cameras to capture weddings we were calling to close the deal.”
The videographer they chose, Fuchsia, also had the 1970’s indie vibe in his work that the couple had their mind set on.
She walked down the aisle after the sun had set to Coldplay’s piano version of Sky Full of Stars as the moon lit up the night sky. After exchanging rose gold rings, he broke the glass and their marriage was official.
The entire evening was filled with impeccable food, nonstop dancing, and heartfelt laughter. “I felt like I barely touched the floor the entire night. I’ve never danced so much in my life and my face hurt from smiling. It was really the most wonderful night ever.”
We hope you enjoyed reading about this blissful winery wedding as much as we did!
Here is Kiley’s note to future brides: “Don’t stress every little thing, no one remembers anything except how beautiful the bride looked and the vibes they felt!”
