Jazz duo and real-life couple Leif and Alexandra settled on an exciting elopement in Italy. The artsy pair hired European photographers The Ferros to capture their romantic adventure, which took them to Tuscany and the Italian Alps. Keep reading to learn all there is to know about Leif and Alexandra’s non-traditional elopement!
About the Couple
Leif first laid eyes on Alexandra while she was singing at a club. Alexandra was singing the song “My Funny Valentine” by Frank Sinatra and Leif knew that he had to meet her. Shortly thereafter, they started dating and became a jazz duo (Alexandra is the lead singer and Leif is a talented trumpet player).
Photography by The Ferros
When it came time to choose a wedding photographer, Leif and Alexandra knew that The Ferros was right for them. Just like them, there is a creative duo behind The Ferros, Nico and Vinx. Nico and Vinx are experts at capturing emotional and authentic photos time and time again. It’s no wonder The Ferros describes their style as cinematic, refined, and unique. Overall, their photography style was exactly what Leif and Alexandra wanted. Plus, The Ferros are based in Italy, where the couple was planning to elope. The Ferros has documented several engagements and elopements across diverse Italian landscapes. They couldn’t wait to visit Florence and the Dolomites for Leif and Alexandra’s big day.
Fun in Florence
Leif and Alexandra’s big day began in Florence in a rather unique fashion. The couple were composing and rehearsing for the live show they were performing later that night. The Ferros captured some cosy and romantic moments in the couple’s apartment as they prepped for the evening ahead. Later that night, Leif and Alexandra headed to a renowned jazz club in Florence, where they gave an intimate live performance. As with earlier in the day, The Ferros was there to snap photos of the passionate show.
All the words coming from her lips were like sweet bullets for my heart.” – Leif
Eloping in the Dolomites
The day after their gig in Florence, it was time for Leif and Alexandra to elope. However, Alexandra let Leif choose the exact location of their elopement, and so to her surprise, they ended up in the Italian Alps. The couple, along with Nico and Vinx of The Ferros, headed to Tre Cime di Lavaredo, one of the most stunning groups of mountains in the Dolomites. When they arrived, everyone was in awe of the magnificent views around them. However, this wasn’t the last surprise Leif had in store. As they began exchanging vows, Leif revealed he had actually written a song for Alexandra and recorded it on a music cassette. So instead of saying his vows aloud, Leif played the cassette for Alexandra. It was a beautiful, emotional moment the couple will never forget.
