Months ago, WedElf, together with Watabe Wedding Hawaii, held a Giveaway Contest for a Wedding Ceremony at The AKALĀ Chapel for 1 engaged couple! Today, we hear about their wedding from this lucky couple, Louise & Bram, hailing from The Netherlands.
Both Louise & Bram grew up in Haarlem in The Netherlands, in the same neighbourhood they always hang around in. Having mutual friends & going to the same places inevitably led to these lovebirds meeting a lot and eventually, falling in love with each other. “Bram was always asking my girlfriends where I was,” Louise said in amusement.
We asked them to tell us what they liked about each other.
Louise: “He is a crazy, beautiful and adventurous soul who taught me how to love unconditionally. He is my sun, moon & all my stars.”
Bram: “She gives me the feeling that I can conquer the world.”
Back in August 2018, Bram proposed to Louise on the Haiku Stairs in Hawaii after being with each other for 11 years. They were hiking the famous Stairway to Heaven midway when Bram asked two passersby if they could film them.
Louise was confused at what he wanted them to film until he knelt down on one knee and took out a ring. ? It was a magical moment for these thrillseekers, as the Stairway to Heaven is Lou’s favourite place and one of the most breathtaking views on the entire planet.
When the lovebirds won our giveaway in August 2018, they were thrilled and thought it was totally meant to be. It was a norm to have a big and fancy wedding in The Netherlands, but they decided to do away with tradition. They had an intimate celebration instead, inviting their close-knit group of friends & family to Hawaii.
Being the easy-going couple that they are, they thought it would be nice to have a simple wedding theme & truly themselves. They fell in love with Hawaii (quite obviously) and all the boys in their wedding party wore a bright-coloured Aloha T-shirt!
Louise & Bram’s piece of advice to future brides & grooms is to let an organization like Watabe Wedding Hawaii arrange your perfect day. “I didn’t feel the stress of planning a whole wedding and didn’t have to ask for any help from any friends or family. They didn’t have to do anything on the day of the wedding. I think they could enjoy everything much more because they had no responsibility.”
Their favourite moment of the wedding was the reading of their vows. “Our vows made the wedding very personal, so I would recommend everyone to write your own vows.” (Read What You Need To Know Before Writing Your Wedding Vow)
“The AKALĀ Chapel is just so gorgeous. We loved that everything was white and there were flowers. It literally looks like heaven. That made it perfect for us because our proposal venue was at the Stairways to Heaven and the wedding venue definitely felt like heaven.”
“I would like to give a shoutout to WedElf and Watabe Wedding. If I had a question or an upgrade they answered me within days with all the options. All the people who are working at the organizations were so kind and lovely. Especially Runa from Watabe Wedding, for all the communication, patience, and helping me out with everything during the ceremony. She fixed my hair, dress and stood by my side for the whole time.”
“I’m so grateful that WedElf made it possible for me to marry at my soul place. I now know that dreams can come true and WedElf made that possible. My wedding day couldn’t be more perfect.”
The team at WedElf is glad to have been part of this beautiful wedding at The AKALĀ Chapel in Hawaii.
Congratulations, dear Louise & Bram!
