Monique and Youssef Khoury tied the knot in a beautiful wedding in Melbourne, Australia. The lovebirds said “I do” on Halloween, but despite the date, they opted for an elegant meets vintage affair. Keep reading to discover more about this adorable couple and their special day.
About Monique & Youssef
Monique met Youssef through his sister, as the two women had worked together in a cabin crew leaving from Dubai. It was when Monique returned to Sydney, where she was living at the time, that she first met Youssef. Not too long after, Youssef was planning the proposal of a lifetime.
Youssef’s daring proposal happened while the adventure-loving pair was skydiving in St Kilda, Melbourne. Of course, Monique said yes without hesitation, and the rest is history!
The key is to be truthful and real to each other.”
In line with the elegant, vintage theme of the day, Monique opted for a breathtaking gown covered in French lace from designer Mariana Hardwick. It featured lace sleeves, a two-metre-long lace train, a form-fitting silhouette, and a sweetheart neckline. When it came to her hair and makeup, Monique looked as glamorous as can be, with voluminous curls, a sparkly hair clip, a nude lip, and a smokey eye. Hairstyling was by Khamile Salon and makeup application was by makeup artist Christina Sikalias.
There’s no need to stress, the day will turn out to be a breathtaking day.”
Elegant and Vintage Reception
The most memorable part of the day for Monique was the exchange of vows during the ceremony. After the traditional ceremony at Our Lady of Lebanon Church, the newlyweds, along with their guests, made their way to the reception venue, Lakeside Banquet & Convention Centre. The theme of the reception was “elegant and vintage,” shares the bride. Guests were wowed by the floral and decor, which consisted of regal candelabras and bouquets of fresh cream flowers. Furthermore, the head table was a sight to behold with its ruched draping down the front, abundance of flowers, and the two crystal candelabras that flanked either end.
Advice for Couples
Monique’s main advice to all brides and grooms-to-be is to relax. She urges all couples getting married to not stress and just trust that the day will turn out perfectly. Further, when it comes to your relationship, Monique advises couples to always be truthful and real with one another.
