Warning: Major luxury wedding inspiration ahead! Nancy and David’s black-tie affair was a day to remember forever. From the orchid-covered head table to the bride’s custom-made gown, continue reading to discover more details from their special day.
About the Couple
Nancy and David met at a mutual friend’s birthday celebration and within eight months, they were engaged! David opted for a Christmastime proposal, popping the question on Christmas night. After the couple finished dinner at his parents’ house, David told Nancy that he wanted to take her into the city. In true rom-com style, it started to rain, so he took Nancy under the Harbour Bridge and it was there that he asked her to be his wife forever. “I got teary-eyed and said yes,” shares the bride.
The Bride’s Custom-Made Gown
Nancy looked like a princess on her wedding day. She achieved this fairytale look thanks to her custom-made gown from Australian bridal designer Norma & Lili Bridal Couture. The stunning strapless gown featured a mermaid silhouette, sweetheart neckline, a cathedral train, and a sparkly bodice adorned with crystals and pearls.
The Wedding Ceremony
The couple exchanged vows in a traditional ceremony at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, before making their way to downtown Sydney’s Doltone House Hyde Park for the reception. Their grand entrance was to traditional Lebanese music performed live by an 8-piece band. Later in the night, they had their first dance to “My Baby You” by Marc Anthony.
The Elegant Reception
The magical reception was a sight to behold. Nancy and David wished for an elegant look to match the gold accents of their venue, and their wish definitely came true! Guest tables were embellished with black linens and tall, white floral arrangements. For the head table, the bride requested all-white flowers. Trailing white orchids were suspended from the ceiling and cascaded down the front of the head table. One of our favourite details was the flickering tea lights inside clear glass ornaments that hung down from the flowers.
Advice to Newlyweds
As for advice to other couples, Nancy urges all brides and grooms to enjoy their wedding day and remember to smile. After all, it is one of the greatest days of your life! When it comes to marriage, the bride says that communication and trust are key. In order to maintain a strong relationship that will stand the test of time, you need to be able to communicate with and trust your partner.
Communication and trust are two of the most important pieces of advice for creating and maintaining a strong relationship.”
Honeymoon-of-a-Lifetime
After their lavish wedding, Nancy and David embarked on the honeymoon-of-a-lifetime. They visited three countries and two continents on their month-long whirlwind trip, travelling to Singapore, Greece, and Thailand. “It was a beautiful honeymoon with lots of sunshine,” says Nancy.
