There is no doubt about it, the upcoming royal wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry is officially the wedding of the year!
We cannot tell you how excited we are at WedElf about the big day and have spent maybe a bit more time than we should, trying to predict what Meghan’s dress will be like, how will it compare to Princess Diana’s and Kate Middleton’s, what flowers will be in the floral decorations, along with plenty of other exciting details we are just itching to find out about the #RoyalWedding.
Without getting too overwhelmed about Meghan and Harry’s highly anticipated wedding, let’s recap about the details we do and do not currently already know and why you absolutely should not miss out on this special day in history.

What We Do Know
The Date – That’s easy… it’s been in our diaries for months! May 19th, 2018. Tune in to watch the televised wedding at 12pm BST.
The Venue – The ceremony itself will take place at midday in St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. Guests will then join the happy couple after the ceremony for the wedding breakfast in St. George’s Hall and later an after-party for close friends will be held at The Frogmore House Estate, which adjoins Windsor Castle.
The Wedding Cake – It was recently confirmed that London pastry chef Claire Ptak will be creating the couple’s wedding cake who have opted for an organic lemon and elderflower cake, incorporating “the bright flavours of spring”, decorated with buttercream and fresh flowers.

The Speeches – What we do know for certain is that Prince Harry will be giving a speech as per tradition at the wedding reception. However, it is also expected that Meghan will break with tradition and deliver her own speech of thanks, instead of her father, who would prefer to avoid the limelight.
The Flowers – On April 1st, Kensington Palace announced that the happy couple will be using florist Philippa Craddock to design the flowers for the church ceremony. There will be elaborate displays of “branches of beech, birch and hornbeam, as well as white garden roses, peonies and foxgloves,” which will be plucked from the Crown Estate and Windsor Gate Park. Not hard to guess, as we do know that peonies are Meghan’s favourite bloom.
The Photographer – The couple has confirmed that Alexi Lubomirski will be the official wedding photographer of the Royal wedding. Lubomirski was also behind the lens of their recent official engagement portraits.

What We Do Not Know… Yet
The Best Man
Although the Duke of Cambridge is expected to be best man, this has not been formally confirmed and it is possible this role will be shared with one of Harry’s close childhood friends.
Meghan may well choose a set of close friends to be her bridesmaids for the special day, including Canadian stylist Jessica Mulroney and Indian actress and philanthropist Priyanka Chopra.
Page Boy & Flower Girl
This is a no brainer, right? Although it is not confirmed, we cannot wait to see Prince George and Princess Charlotte as page boy and flower girl!
The Guests – What we do know is that 600 invitations have been posted and whilst we can expect to see members of the royal family, along with the couples close friends, some speculated guests include the former US president Barack Obama and professional tennis player Serena Williams.
The Wedding Dress – This is possibly our most anticipated detail of the royal wedding. Although we probably won’t know until the day who is designing Meghan’s dress, we do know that one of Meghan’s favourite designers Erdem is in the running.
Haven’t heard for Erdem? The Canadian-Turkish designer Erdem Moralıoğlu is renowned for his classical designs, inspired by history and the arts.
The Entertainment – Nothing has been confirmed but Sir Elton John has suspiciously cancelled two dates of his Las Vegas residency on the date of Harry and Meghan’s wedding… Coincidence? We think not!
It was also recently hinted by Mel B of the Spice Girls that the band is planning to reunite for a performance at the wedding.
The Honeymoon – Now, this is top secret but we know that wherever Meghan and Harry go for their honeymoon, it will be an absolutely perfect location for the couple to celebrate their love for one another, away from the limelight.

We could spend every day until the wedding itself (and we probably will) speculating over the details of Meghan and Harry’s highly anticipated ceremony. However, we do know, like all weddings, some things are better left as a surprise and there is no doubt that we will be bowled over by this fairytale royal wedding fit for a princess with the couple incorporating their classy and contemporary style.
