Samantha Martin and Chris Cains said “I do” at Bendooley Estate in Australia. Their chic countryside wedding paired classic neutral hues with vibrant pops of colour. Read on to learn more about these adorable newlyweds and their big day.
About Sam & Chris
The lovebirds first met at an airport of all places. The bride described their initial encounter as “a bit of a Jerry McGuire moment.” A few years later, on their third anniversary, Chris popped the question in yet another unique place: a car park! He had other plans, but they ultimately failed. However, it didn’t matter to Sam, who accepted his proposal without hesitation.
The Bridal Look
It didn’t take long for the bride Samantha to find the wedding gown of her dreams. Thanks to the time she spent scrolling through Instagram, she knew she wanted a dress from Made With Love Bridal. Thus, as soon as they booked their venue, the first thing she did was schedule a gown fitting. Sam’s mother was by her side throughout the whole dress-finding mission. It was when Sam tried on the gown that would become hers, and both she and her mom started crying, that they knew it was the one.
The gown in question was by Australian designer Made With Love Bridal and featured a trumpet silhouette, sweetheart neckline, lace-covered bodice and skirt, and our favourite part – the delicate lace armbands! To complete this elegant and feminine bridal look, Sam opted for a soft updo and a floor-length veil. Hair and makeup were by Chelsea Hairstylist and Nicole Hill, respectively.
Country Chic Vibe
Sam and Chris had attended a wedding at Bendooley Estate the year before, so when it came time for them to choose a venue, it was a no-brainer! They loved absolutely everything about the countryside venue, from the food to the pastoral scenery. Taking a cue from the rustic chic estate, the couple opted for a neutral colour scheme with vivid pops of colour. These pops of colour came from the floral design by Elizabeth Gibson. Tablescapes were covered in white linens and surrounded by black chairs. They were then topped off with low groupings of greenery mixed with bold red, yellow, and fuchsia flowers. Sam’s bouquet tied in with the theme, featuring everything from soft blush to coral, crimson, and orange flowers.
I saw this one dress with mum and when I tried it on, we both cried and teared up at the amazing details; the lace and the detail on it is amazing and makes it so so beautiful and unique like me.”
Advice for Brides-to-Be
One of the most important aspects of the wedding day is definitely the dress. That is why Samantha’s advice to all brides-to-be is to spend time on the internet before visiting a bridal shop in order to decide which styles or designers you like. Sam specifically recommends scrolling through Instagram, as that was how she stumbled upon her dream dress.
