Aussie couple Stacey and Matthew Cameron had the destination wedding of a lifetime in Bali. Their floral-filled celebration had a fairytale theme that made them feel like royalty. Keep reading to discover all the details of their dreamy day.
About the Couple
Stacey and Cameron first laid eyes on each other while enjoying a fun night out at Marquee night club in Sydney, Australia. Before they knew it, they were engaged. But Matthew’s proposal was not your typical proposal. Instead, he got down on one knee in the middle of Rockefeller Centre’s iconic ice skating rink while the pair were visiting New York City. Stacey of course accepted. To this day, the bride shares that her favourite thing about Matthew is how loving and supportive he always is.
From the get-go, the couple knew they wanted a destination wedding in Bali. When it came to choosing a venue, Stacey and Matthew settled on Villa the Sanctuary Bali. According to Stacey, they wanted a venue that was big enough to hold their friends and family. It should also be extremely private and tucked away in the Indonesian rainforest. They got their wish as Villa the Sanctuary Bali is a luxurious, 10-bedroom villa surrounded by lush gardens and tropical rainforest. To achieve the fairytale theme that the couple was after, Bali VIP Wedding created an arch covered in greenery and white roses for their outdoor ceremony. Meanwhile, the reception featured plenty of candlelight, alongside rustic wooden table accents and trailing eucalyptus leaves.
We wanted something we could have all our friends and family at and also wanted a super-private venue hidden in the rainforest.”
The Blush Gown
Not your typical bride, Stacey always dreamed of wearing a blush gown on her wedding day. More specifically, she had always wanted “a huge blush ball gown skirt with a long train.” Stacey made an appointment at Luv Bridal & Formal, and ended up loving the very first dress she tried on. The gown featured an illusion neckline, ornate embroidery, cap sleeves, and a dramatic skirt and train. To complete the bridal look, Stacey held an oversized, all-white bouquet of orchids, roses, and feathers. For the after-party, Stacey changed into something she could dance the night away in! She wore a simple white A-line dress with a plunging neckline.
Advice for Newly-Engaged Couples
When it comes to planning a wedding, Stacey tells newly-engaged couples to give themselves plenty of time to plan. Destination weddings in particular require more time and attention. Finally, “just enjoy the ride,” she says.
